About us:
Established in 2007, Mooroolbark Dojo is situated at 34 Manchester Road, above Subway restaurant. The Chief Instructor is Sensei Brett Cross 3rd dan qualified NCAS coach with over 32 years experience. Sensei Brett was graded by Japanese Master Sensei Masafumi Shiomitsu 9th dan.
Wado Kai Karate-Do Mooroolbark is affiliated with Karate Victoria, Australian Karate Federation and World Karate Federation. Wado Kai Mooroolbark is the one of the only full time Karate dojos in the eastern suburbs.
At our dojo we run over 21 classes per week to make sure we cover the need for all students. The spread of the 21 classes helps keep class sizes minimal and ensures that students receive ample attention from the instructors during these sessions and enhancing their progress as much as possible.
Junior beginner students have their own separate class to make learning the basics of Karate much easier and without the pressure of higher belts in the same class. After you grade to the next level we have two belt levels in each class to make your progress to Black Belt achievable and rewarding.
Teenager/Adult beginner students will train in the beginner to intermediate class that has four different levels. This class will teach you lots of basic techniques and get you fit, strong and more flexible for your next level. After completing this class you will enter intermediate to black belts class.
Mooroolbark Dojo caters for students of all ages and abilities. With junior classes to work on basic, traditional techniques as well as competition training. This well rounded approach encourages children to develop their motor skills as well as their attitudes, behaviours and social skills.
Adult classes, like the junior classes allow for beginners through to advanced students. Again with the focus on the traditional style of Wado Kai, students not only gain the positive physical aspects such as fitness, flexibility and weight loss but also learn the mental and spiritual qualities of determination, self discipline and will power.
Mooroolbark Dojo has gone from strength to strength since it began, with many of the students competing, placing and winning AKF (Australian Karate Federation) approved tournaments.
